2nd alarm fire on Wallace Rd. CHARLOTTE - An apartment fire in south Charlotte displaced more than two dozen on Monday afternoon.

The fire at the Parkwood East Apartments was quickly upgraded to a second alarm.

Six people were in the building, but were able to escape.

The recruit class from the Charlotte Fire Academy responded to the scene to help with overhaul and picking up hose.
